  • The taste is peaty and phenolic with notes of heather, smoked salmon, honey, and a hint of baking spices that builds into a long and spicy finish. Excellent!

  • The peatiness is persistent, but well integrated, though it could use a bit more body to fully pull off the smoking jacket element.

  • Honestly, it’s my least favorite of the three Waterford Cuvée Concepts. I like the subtlety of the peat, but I feel it gets lost in the accompanying sweet notes during the tasting.

  • Overall, this is unique for Waterford - it’s a more traditional peat and whiskey profile but it’s so lovely, well composed and full of the flavors that work when you bring peat into the Waterford mix.

  • Nose:

Vibrant vanilla cream, toffee, sweet lemon and lime, minerality and a wallop of minerality, peat, salinity and ash.

  • Taste:

Moderate on the palate, full of peat smoke, ash, minerality, a touch of rubber and big vanilla bean sweetness with zesty, citrus undertones.

  • Finish:

Long finish, pungent and fun, loaded with medicinal rubbery peaty funk, confectioners sugar, pepper and fresh rising bread.

  • Overall:

Overall, this is unique for Waterford - it’s a more traditional peat and whiskey profile but it’s so lovely, well composed and full of the flavors that work when you bring peat into the Waterford mix. Killer stuff.
