  • It’s pleasant enough and red wine fans will enjoy it, but it’s pretty one-note.

  • The palate is feather light but flavorful, with fruity notes of Golden Delicious apple skin, raisins, and peach. There’s also a nice undercurrent of earthiness, and a dash of cinnamon spice.

  • The short finish showcases more of the malt's base character, with honey, heather and hay, and peppery spice, along with astringent oak.

  • Nose:

Loads of Cabernet character on the nose, joined by soft barley grain, honey, graham cracker and a kiss of white pepper, a touch of oak and a whiff of vinegar

  • Taste:

Buttery palate. Enjoyable oak meets dry red wine, honey and graham cracker again

  • Finish:

Medium finish with tons of Cabernet character, oak, vanilla, a bit of ethanol and barrel char and some heat

  • Overall:

This is just fine. It’s pleasant enough and red wine fans will enjoy it, but it’s pretty one-note. Sweet notes mingle well with the dry red wine

  • Score:

    80
