Distilled in 1993 and aged for seven years and one month, this release from Booker's is a dusty version of the modern uncut, unfiltered whiskey from Beam. This was a Japanese export, brought back to the U.S., and I'm stoked to be reviewing it here today.

  • A stunner. It’s not worth five times what Booker’s costs today, but it’s an incredible journey back in time.

  • Nose:

Bold and musty, it’s still shockingly on profile for bookers. Extra tobacco, some old cola and a touch of muted peanut funk, but all the classic Booker’s notes are here.

  • Taste:

Rich and sweet on the palate. The heat is muted, while the musty, peanut brittle and bold cola notes are not. So much cola compared to a modern bottling. It’s awesome and has tons going on.

  • Finish:

Long finish, oaky and dry, extra peanut brittle and nougat, heavy caramel and cola.

  • Overall:

A stunner. It’s not worth five times what Booker’s costs today, but it’s an incredible journey back in time.
