Another eccentric name brings us another whiskey review today from SMWS - bottlers of spirit distilled at Tullibardine. Matured in a first fill oloroso sherry butt, this should be interesting. This expression was bottled at cask strength after 11 years of aging, with no filtering or coloring. Let's get to it.

Quite sherried - lots of plum, black currant, blackberry and a nutty sherry note. Sweet and savory, rich with fruit and syrup.
Plum, toffee and sweet musty tobacco. Quite rich here, the mouth feel is nice. Oak structure is present and quite bold for something this young. Drying tannins pair well with sweet berry, syrupy wine and a hint of cocoa.
Short finish, a bit hot, with lots of black currant, pepper, oak and sulfur. Cocoa is present as well, and really quite pleasant.
This is very good - I love the combination of cocoa and more vocal oak along with the syrupy sherry notes.
