This is a 7 year old Panamanian rum distilled in 2011. Aged for 5 years in the tropics, and the rest in Europe, this undosed Panamanian should be interesting. I'm looking forward to it, as I historically have not drank much Panamanian rum. Let's dive in.

  • Overall, this isn’t blowing anyone away but it’s very nice, and entirely competent, especially in representing the style I’ve perceived from other Panamanian rums.

  • Nose:

Sweet but very closed off. Not a lot happening here. Sweet toffee and a hint of banana are all that really present themselves.

  • Taste:

Medium mouth feel, a faint prick of heat. Sweet vanilla, toffee, caramel and a hint of fruit. It’s sweet, but naturally so. Papaya and banana.

  • Finish:

Short but fairly complex. That oak presence is here a bit more, with some pineapple, pepper and a nice custard component.
