Distilled by Lexington Distillery using their Malt mash bill, this expression is 11 years old, bottled at cask strength, and matured entirely in Oloroso wine casks
This should be a fairly divisive bottling. If you love powerful oak, tannins, cinnamon then this should be up your alley. It’s a bit too dry and bitter for me, but the Oloroso character is interesting and enjoyable.

House Review
Nose:
Ripe blackberry, honey, toffee, some tannin and cinnamon. Some dough, cherry, nutmeg. Lots going on!
Taste:
Medium mouthfeel. Extra woody, some bitterness, cinnamon, nutmeg, red wine and blackberry. Honestly - way tanning heavy. Grows bitter with time. Reminds me a bit of some tannin driven Balcones stuff.
Finish:
Long finish - a bit warming and spicy. Tons of tannins, cocoa, chocolate, pepper. Big juicy fruits. Bitter and drying.
Overall:
This should be a fairly divisive bottling. If you love powerful oak, tannins, cinnamon then this should be up your alley. It’s a bit too dry and bitter for me, but the Oloroso character is interesting and enjoyable.
