Torabhaig Legacy Series Chapter 3: Cnoc Na Mòine is a heavily peated single malt scotch whisky distilled on the Isle of Skye. It is made from Concerto and Anchor malt using Pinnacle and Anchor yeast. The whisky matures in ex-bourbon American oak, Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez casks and is bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration or added coloring.
On the finish, the peat is under water, giving way to lemon meringue, whipped cream, and white pepper spice. A delicious and flavorful journey, if a bit short in the end.
The palate features a healthy shaking of salt and pepper, with iodine and honeycomb. The finish showcases rubber tire and asphalt, with incense smoke, dried apricots, cacao, and oak.
