  • It's fine - nothing too wildly impressive or complex. Fruity, smokey then sweet. I can't help but wish that this was closer to cask strength and maybe that would have pushed this from forgettable and plain, but still good, to a great whiskey.

  • Nose:

RIch sherry, honey, molasses, toffee, figs, raspberry jam, strawberries

  • Taste:

Thin mouthfeel but sweet and definitely sherried. Toffee, vanilla, strawberry and raspberry jam. NO sulfur. Peat sneaks in and grows over time. Nice mild ashy peat

  • Finish:

More mild smoke here, growing a little bitter. Faint fruit and some mild sweet and pepper

  • Overall:

It's fine - nothing too wildly impressive or complex. Fruity, smokey then sweet. I can't help but wish that this was closer to cask strength and maybe that would have pushed this from forgettable and plain, but still good, to a great whiskey. I'm giving this a Rank 5 as a result.
