Distilled at MGP, this 10yr release is classified as an American Whiskey, and diluted with Colorado water for the Tin Cup brand. The branding is minimal and attractive, and it's good to see new releases hitting the market with clearer delineations behind their sub-category of whiskey. For 10 years old, this $60 American Whiskey hopefully brings some real character to the table, though the 42% ABV choice is a bit on the low side.

Sweet buttercream, peaches, brown sugar, tobacco and a touch of baking spice and clove. Reminds me a touch of allspice dram, syrupy maple and angostura bitters.
Medium on the palate, leaning a touch thin. Sweet butter cream, brown sugar. Plenty of baking spice, a surprising amount of oak. There's a lot of character here, which is surprising given the ABV but the tannin is well placed and there's plenty of great flavor here.
Long finish, baking spices, brown sugar, honey, toffee, cinnamon sticks and fresh cracked pepper.
I'm not often taken aback but this is pretty darn tasty. The proof could be higher, but it doesn't taste meek or thin, and there's an enjoyable dessert forward, oak backed profile here that's an easy sip. If you're bored of the usual bourbon profile or looking for something unique and interesting, this is worth a shot.
