Produced by Disaronno in Italy, this coffee liqueur is made with 100% Arabica coffee, vanilla and rum. Tia Maria was founded in the 1940s in Jamaica but is being made in Italy now since it was sold to Disaronno.

Plenty of roasty coffee on the nose with a prick of ethanol
More rum influence than the nose. The palate is silky smooth with lots of coffee, sweet cane sugar, a kick of rum funk and vanilla. It's very sweet.
Long, sweet finish with plenty of coffee and vanilla sweetness. The saccharine finish drags on painfully long, making this a tough sipper on its own.
A tasty coffee liqueur, for sure, but much better served in a cocktail than by itself. Just too sweet. However, the coffee character is delicious and rocks an espresso martini.
