  • Lighter than its cousins on the palate, there is distinctive orange or citrus wrapped in tobacco or leather as well as vanilla and a mushroom-like earthiness.

  • The most approachable and best-balanced whiskey in this lineup, this Cognac-finished offering is quite soft and lively, with a nose of citrus peel, perfume, vanilla, and oak all in a swirl.

  • Easily my favorite of the recent Thomas Moore’s, it goes to show just how complementary cognac finishing can be with the right bourbon and the right maturation

  • Nose:

Lush and sweet, the nose is loaded with fresh cream, sweet honey, rich tobacco, deep fruit like blackberry and currant as well as a pop of sweet oak and fresh cracked pepper.

  • Taste:

Rich on the palate, the cognac shines up front adding a good bit of soft fruit, rich character and pipe tobacco notes alongside classic notes of barrel char, cream and cocoa, root beer candies and blackberry reduction on the back palate.

  • Finish:

Long finish that’s decadent and layered, the Cognac here is noticeable and blends so nicely with the bourbon character for a long finish full of ginger, tobacco and toffee, sweet cream and a pinch of pepper.

  • Overall:

Easily my favorite of the recent Thomas Moore’s, it goes to show just how complementary cognac finishing can be with the right bourbon and the right maturation
