  • It’s full-bodied, well-rounded, and creamy on the palate, with a maze of different flavors, from citrus zest and delicate spices to pepperiness, with dried apple, maltiness, and cinnamon.

  • Yamazaki’s 18yr Mizunara for 2024 is nuts, it’s gorgeous and rich, decadent and complex and maintains just enough character blended with the opulence of Mizunara.

  • A truly exceptional whisky, with an unmistakably Japanese character to the palate. No reason to score it differently from the 2023 edition.

  • Nose:

Gorgeous saddle wood, black tea, honey, lychee. Nice combination of fruits, honey, spices with Mizunara showing wonderfully.

  • Taste:

Rich palate, pleasant minerality, malt, slate, melon. I like how the fruit and the minerality play off each other, and the palate has a really nice viscosity despite the lower proof.

  • Finish:

Long finish, gorgeous sweetness, oak, minerality, black tea. Savory, sweet, hints of fruit - lovely.

  • Overall:

Yamazaki’s 18yr Mizunara for 2024 is nuts. It’s gorgeous and rich, decadent and complex and maintains just enough character blended with the opulence of Mizunara.
