The Singleton of Glendullan 18 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is distilled from 100% malted barley and aged a minimum of 18 years in a combination of American and French oak. It is bottled at 40% ABV.
While very mild, this is quite enjoyable. The finish is just strong enough to make this an interesting neat pour. This is the most I have enjoyed a pour of The Singleton before, and it has me curious about their other older vintage and one-off labels.
The 18 year, like the other whiskies in the main Glendullan range, favors balance over extremes, with no one characteristic jutting out to a high degree. It achieves depth nonetheless, producing quite a nice 18 year single malt Scotch.
