The Morning Glory is a cask-strength, single-barrel bourbon produced by Spirits of French Lick in West Baden Springs, Indiana. It is named after a historic southern Indiana whiskey bar. The mashbill includes 66% corn, 16% toasted buckwheat, 12% rye, 4% malted barley and 2% buckwheat. Master distiller Alan Bishop uses locally sourced or house-grown grains and ages the bourbon in No. 2 char barrels, primarily stored in a chai cellar. It is bottled at 108.6 proof.
The Morning Glory is easy enough to pass on the shelves if you are a person who typically rejects anything craft. But it’s worth looking at closely and I would recommend buying a bottle.
