The Macallan Harmony Collection is a 44% ABV single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside, Scotland. Released as the first in the Harmony series, it was created in collaboration with pastry chef Jordi Roca. The whisky is naturally colored like toasted cacao beans and sold in 750 ml bottles.
The palate delivers gentle red fruit, cocoa, and nutty notes that suggest sherry, but the impression is generally soft and lacking in proof, with grilled fruits and some spice appearing on a modest finish. Ironically, it offers neither richness nor cacao.
Honestly, I’m confused – and more than a bit frustrated. I actually wanted to be surprised and impressed by this. I hoped to find a sumptuous and rich, indulgent profile that reminded me of what great chocolate can be combined with the character of what Macallan itself can be. This ain’t that.
