  • It’s a great introduction bottle if you’ve never tried Macallan before. But I’d advise jumping straight in with the Sherry Oak release for a more classic Macallan profile.

  • This Macallan joins the core line between the Sherry Oak and Fine Oak ranges. Warming and rich without being syrupy, it doubles up on accessibility with its balance and remarkably affordable price for its quality and age.

  • While an interesting whiskey and as usual with Macallan well made, it does suffer from being a not overly complex and slightly harsh malt ( which in my opinion may be the result of not so good bourbon casks). Also it is a bit pricey for what it is given some of the other brands when you compare age and value.
