Only 319 bottles are available, each at a suggested retail price of $5,500. It's bottled at 118.2 proof. The blend includes whisky from Hanyu Distillery, whose liquid is exceptionally rare as the distillery has been shuttered since 2004.

  • Tropical fruit flavors abound with mango and papaya, plus baked stone fruits and exotic wood spices, ending with an impressive interplay between creamy oak, incense, nutmeg, coconut, and ground cinnamon.

  • Nose:

The nose is layered, delicate, really distinctive and gorgeous. Butterscotch, red bean paste, pear, kiwi, cotton candy and a good amount of smoked wood.

  • Taste:

Lots of oak plays nicely with tropical notes and trace of spice. A big kiwi note mingles with pear, guava, leather, white pepper, cinnamon and smoke.

  • Finish:

Uber-long finish. Smokiness continues, followed by plum, leather, truffle, melted butter, yuzu and white peach.

  • Overall:

This is special, spectacular stuff. A rich, delicious, nuanced and flavorful whisky.

  • Score:

    95
