This peated whisky is produced at Suntory's Hakushu Distillery, nestled in the forests of Mt. Kai Komagatake in Japan. It's a blend comprising a non-peated whisky aged in American oak, a non-peated whisky aged in ex-sherry and Spanish oak and a peated whisky aged in American oak.

  • I’ve tried this whisky previously at a tasting event and wasn’t impressed. The smoke was showing too strongly at the time — an unfortunate by-product of the way events like this work — but here I’m finding it quite the charmer.
