The Glenlivet Captain's Reserve is a no-age statement release, first aged in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. The whisky is then finished for at least six months in French Limousin oak casks, which previously held cognac. The name honors Captain William Smith Grant, the great-grandson of the founder of The Glenlivet, who served France during WWI. It is bottled at 40% ABV and sells for around $55.
