Dalmore Valour, a travel retail exclusive single malt Scotch whisky, is bottled at 40% ABV and retails for about £60 per liter. It matures in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, then 30-year-old Matusalem oloroso sherry casks from González Byass, and finishes in Port pipes from Portugal’s Douro region. The expression honors Colin of Kintail, Chief of Clan Mackenzie, for saving King Alexander III of Scotland.
The palate is medium-sweet, with damsons, Jaffa oranges, and printer's ink. Dark berries emerge in time. The finish embraces drying spices, figs, and mildly astringent oak.
