  • The mouthfeel carries a delicious creamy roundness to it, and sumptuous flavors of flourless chocolate cake, red berries, caramel, and candied nuts coat the palate.

  • Nose:

Rich nose with plenty of brioche and almond. After spending some time opening up, the port comes through in a very welcome way. Oak, cinnamon, nutmeg, honey. Beautiful, balanced nose.

  • Taste:

Pleasantly oaky palate that's well balanced and totally delicious. The port and sherry casks add some sweetness and berry character that's prominent but dialed back. Oak, almonds, brioche, white pepper, water chestnut.

  • Finish:

Long finish with barrel char, dark chocolate, coffee grounds, pepper, a kiss of mint and some grape-y port character.

  • Overall:

Excellent scotch. Reasonably complex and extremely easy to sip.

  • Score:

    88
