The Chuan Pure Malt Whisky PX Finish is produced by Pernod Ricard China at its distillery in Emeishan, Sichuan Province. Distilled using both European and Chinese barley, it matures in a combination of American bourbon casks, Spanish sherry casks and Chinese single oak casks sourced from northeast China’s Changbai Mountain. A bottle retails for about $124.
Aromas of stone fruits, prunes, and berries lead to bold fruit cake flavours with hints of peppercorn and sandalwood. A complex, long finish with a delightful vanilla sweetness.
