Templeton Rye whiskey, the flagship rye of the brand, is distilled and aged for 6 years in charred new American oak barrels in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, by MGP.
Templeton Rye is certainly not the most complex or challenging rye available, but it is easy-drinking and is a definite step-up from other MGP rye products I’ve tried at the same price point.
This veers away from the main pack of American rye whiskeys of today. The aroma is surprisingly sweet and tropical: Canned pineapples, vanilla cream, shaved coconut, and cream soda.
