  • Tears shows some slight bubbles on the edge of the glass (a traditional sign of quality), and puts out aromas of caramel flan, dark chocolate, vanilla and dried fruit. On the palate it's the same in spades, with a little added spice and sweetness from the sherry barrels--and yet Tears is still agave at heart.

  • Far from meek, this pour is nothing short of complex. Dry oak, sweet maple, agave character, honey and a fuji apple note. Lovely complexity on this bottling, this is what I want and love about a well constructed tequila.

  • Nose:

Bright, bold and complex on the nose. Sweet orange and pear meld with baking spice, brown sugar, a touch of char, tons of caramelized sugar and a dry, tannic bit.

  • Taste:

Rich on the palate, bold and wonderful. Far from meek, this pour is nothing short of complex. Dry oak, sweet maple, agave character, honey and a fuji apple note. Wonderfully complex. Big baking spice and cinnamon on the back palate.

  • Finish:

Long finish, spicy and dry. A touch oaky, it’s easy to feel this pour move on its way and feel compelled for another sip.

  • Overall:

Lovely complexity on this bottling, this is what I want and love about a well constructed tequila that sees some serious barrel time.
