  • It’s not smoky or smoked, but there is a flavor note in there that takes on that character for me, ever so slightly

  • This is a dram that gets better the longer you sit with it. While the nose is surprisingly grain-forward, the palate and finish develop nicely into an easy sipper of a pour.

  • Nose:

Surprisingly grainy, full of apples, pears, grain, honey, some tobacco and cream. Not wildly complex on the nose, but there's no doubt there's a good deal of sherry character in this pour.

  • Taste:

Moderate mouthfeel, honey, apples, baking spice, pears. There's a pleasant balance of fruity character, sherry dessert notes and a touch of oak and grain.

  • Finish:

Moderate finish, tobacco, some ethanol, toffee, cream, butter. Easily the best part, the sherry punches true here in the finish.

  • Overall:

This is a dram that gets better the longer you sit with it. While the nose is surprisingly grain-forward, the palate and finish develop nicely into an easy sipper of a pour.

  • Score:

    80
