Svedka Vodka, founded in 1998, is distilled in Lidköping, Sweden, from winter wheat. Acquired by Constellation Brands in 2007 for $384 million, Svedka is now headquartered in New York. It undergoes a five-column distillation process lasting over 40 hours.
The palate is quite simplified, with a modest sugar component and just a wisp of astringency that attempts to provide some balance. It never quite gets there, though, leaving this best suited as a mixer.
