Stray Dog Wild Gin is an organic Greek dry gin produced in small batches using traditional copper pot stills and bottled at 43.5% ABV in a 750 ml format. It incorporates wild-foraged botanicals including sage, rosemary and bay leaf, along with citrus and mastiha. Brand tasting notes describe aromas of lemon and orange, a savory profile led by sage, a smooth, full-bodied palate and a complex, soothing finish. The gin typically retails for around $38 and donates a portion of proceeds to animal welfare organizations in Greece.
The pine notes are caused by the inclusion of mastiha (mastic) resin, from the mastiha trees which in Greece grow only on the island of Chios so is one of the few botanicals that are brought in for the distilling.
