Released in December 2025, this is the year's annual release of Snowflake, the crown jewel in the portfolio of Stranahan's, the Denver, Colorado-based distillery that's among the leaders in the American single malt whiskey scene. 2025's Snowflake, named Windom Peak, is a blend of 8-to-13-year-old single malt aged in new oak and finished in casks that previously held tequila, Rhum Agricole, Peach Brandy, Applejack, White Port and Orange Wine. It's bottled at 94 proof and has a suggested retail price of $119.99.
Master Blender Justin Aden tells us that the base blend for this whiskey was finished in extra añejo and reposado tequila barrels, and the rest were blended into a "flavor coupe" that was mixed in with the base.

Delicious, inviting nose. Browned butter, sweet cream, blueberry pie, strawberry syrup, pineapple, light agave.
Moderate viscosity. The agave leaps out here. The palate is peppery with a big mix of grilled papaya and mango, plus tannin, peach, orange and a satisfying earthy, tobbaco-esque note that balances out all the light fruity notes.
Long finish with raspberries, agave, white pepper, cinnamon, bubblegum, Nilla Wafers.
A masterpiece constructed by Justin Aden and company. Crafting a well-balanced tequila finish is no easy task, and Stranahan’s has achieved it in spades.
