  • That butterscotch note carries through on the palate initially, but quickly evolves into an amalgam of bitter dark chocolate, buttery toffee and baking spice flavor. It finishes on a refreshing chocolate-mint note.

House Review
  • Nose:

    Sweet and buttery, orange peel and toffee, honey and caramel with a dash of pepper. Complex, sweet and balanced but enticing.

  • Taste:

    Moderate mouthfeel on the palate. Sweet corn flakes, toffee, a touch of honey and light orange peel. Fig jam, steel cut oats, light butterscotch, a touch of pepper. Unique, and while the ABV could be boosted, there's plenty of flavor.

  • Finish:

    Short finish, but it's pleasant and sweet. Honey, almond, caramel and honey meet pepper, a touch of clove and some slate and cinnamon. Lovely and enjoyable even if it's not everlasting.

  • Overall:

    Overall, this release shows that complexity can be found in the absence of bruiser ABV's. It's unique, interesting and most of all: delicious - a great showing from Stranahan's.
