Stillman's Sonder 10 Year American Single Malt is distilled at MGP (Ross & Squibb Distillery) in Indiana and finished, blended and bottled by Dancing Goat Distillery in Cambridge, Wisconsin. It is made from a mashbill of 100% malted barley and goes through three rounds of selection, blending, re-barreling and finishing in virgin oak, ex-bourbon, Wisconsin brandy, Cognac and Calvados casks. It is bottled at 48.2% ABV (96.4 proof) and sells for about $70 per 750ml bottle.
A big whiff of brandy is present but simmers down as you move to a midpoint that pulls in more oak, spices, and leather. Mellow brown sugar mingles with fruit notes of dried apple, orange rind, and light cocktail cherry.
