Stillhouse Original Whiskey comes from Stillhouse Spirits Company, founded in 2016 by Brad Beckerman, with production and finishing taking place in Virginia and Kentucky. The unaged corn whiskey uses a 100% corn mash bill made from estate-grown corn, distilled in traditional copper pot stills and charcoal filtered. It is bottled at 40% ABV and sold in 750 ml stainless steel cans with a suggested retail price of $27.99.
The medicinal aspects of the whiskey are still there, but they’re held in check by a light body that is almost watery at times. The finish isn’t so much reminiscent of gasoline as it is of heavily roasted nuts, dried herbs, and licorice.
