  • A wonderful bourbon. The palate doesn’t live up to the bourbon-of-the-year level promises the nose makes, but it’s very good stuff nevertheless.

  • Nose:

Bright, rich nose with sweet cream and Bavarian cream galore, plus sugar cookie, caramel, raspberries, crème brûlée.

  • Taste:

Nice viscosity. A bit darker on the palate than the nose. Some tannin here for sure. Charcoal, leather, espresso, banana pudding a touch of minerality, spearmint, plus black cherry, nutmeg and pepper. Once it opens up a bit, fruitiness really comes to the forefront with a big cherry candy vibe, plus some melon.

  • Finish:

The finish is dry and pretty short with some oak. It leads with blackberry, cherry and espresso and then transitions into vanilla bean, licorice and cocoa powder.

  • Overall:

A wonderful bourbon. The palate doesn’t live up to the bourbon-of-the-year level promises the nose makes, but it’s very good stuff nevertheless.

  • Score:
