  • This bourbon is bold and interesting. It has a lot of warmth for being at 100 proof, but not so much so that it overrules any flavor.

  • I’ve got to say, Still Austin has a real hit with this release. The great flavor combined with the clinginess of the mouthfeel just really suit me.

  • This release is a shocker and full of the characteristics I love in a whiskey.

  • Nose:

Complex and rich on the nose, there's a lot to sniff through here. With plenty of cherries, cocoa, espresso, nougat and rich cream, this is a rich, boozy, decadent nose.

  • Taste:

Moderate palate with a pleasant proofiness to it, this pour drinks like a chocolate-cherry cola bomb. There's espresso, cocoa, dark chocolate, cherries, a touch of syrupy blackberry and plenty of pepper and ginger to balance.

  • Finish:

Long finish with cherry and vanilla cream once more — almost too easy to drink.

  • Overall:

This release is a shocker and full of the characteristics I love in a whiskey. This is perhaps one of the best whiskeys to come from Texas and across my desk. Consider me impressed.

  • Score:

    88
