The Walking Dead Straight Bourbon, produced in partnership between Diageo and Skybound Entertainment, is a sourced straight bourbon bottled at 94 proof. This bourbon is at least two years old, though it carries no official age statement, and is priced around $35 for a 750ml bottle.
I thought this one was good, though not going through any special effort to acquire. Definitely a good sipper, but as a limited release, not worthy of spending a penny more than the base price of $35 for a bottle.
All in all, I am both surprised and impressed, especially with the plastic cap nature of this bottle. The Walking Dead straight bourbon is significantly more characterful than it would need to be in order to market itself to the show’s fandom, and displays a nice profile of fruit and caramel, with fresh mint as a signature note.
This is a decent whiskey. It’s light, it’s easy, but it isn’t gutless. There’s a bit of meat on these bones an it makes for something worth drinking as you finish out the next season… or the end of the books.
