Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur is produced in Sicily using three small-batch distillations with copper alembic stills. The first distillation incorporates the blood orange flesh, the second distillation captures the oils from the zest and the third distillation uses Sicilian lemons. The liqueur is then sweetened with beet sugar and bottled at 80 proof.
It has more of a dry quality than either Cointreau or Grand Marnier, making this an interesting orange liqueur to try in cocktails that call for vermouth, amaros or sparkling wine.
