Sierra Norte White Corn Whiskey is crafted in Oaxaca using a mashbill of 85% non-GMO ancestral corn and 15% malted barley. It is aged 2 to 3 years in French oak barrels after being double-distilled in copper pot stills and rests at 90 proof.
The palate is sweet, gentle, and refreshing, bathed in honey, with dried peel, sweet corn, toasted oak spices, and a late sensation of charred oak, burnt toast, and peppercorn. That slight burnt note just creeps into the finish.
Like some blue corn whiskies, the mouthfeel on this whiskey is very soft. Tastes like young oak and old saddle leather a cowboy has been riding off into the sunsets with his trusty horse. Overall, the finish is too short and then you’re just with a grassy aftertaste coating your mouth.
