Shortbarrel Afterswarm II Meadowfoam is an Atlanta-finished rye whiskey made from sourced 6-to-13-year-old whiskey from MGP in Indiana and Green River Distillery in Kentucky. It uses a 95% rye and 5% malted barley mashbill and is finished for nearly 12 months in barrels previously conditioned with Meadowfoam honey from Oregon's Willamette Valley. It's bottled non-chill filtered at 54.3% ABV and sells for $114.99.

  • Spices take the wheel on the palate, offering cinnamon stick, allspice, ground nutmeg, pickled ginger, and hot pepper, all underscored by a pleasant honey-maple sweetness. Chocolate-covered chiles lead the finish, also joined by more honey, cinnamon, and very subtle florality.
