Sheep Dip is a blended malt Scotch whisky originally created by Spencerfield Spirits and now bottled by Ian Macleod Distillers. It blends 16 single malt whiskies sourced from the Highland, Speyside, Lowland and Islay regions, aged between 8 and 20 years in first-fill sherry, first-fill bourbon and refill oak casks. The whisky carries no age statement, is bottled at 40% ABV and retails for around $35 to $47.
The palate, however, is quite a bit more subdued. Citrus hinted at in the nose is stronger here, overpowering the malt a bit. It’s very pleasant and easy to drink, but not overly complex.
