Sharish Blue Gin is made by António Cuco in the Alentejo region of Portugal using local fruit and botanicals, such as juniper, coriander seed, liquorice, angelica root, Alentejo lemon peel, ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, strawberry, raspberry and blue pea flower. It is bottled at 40% ABV and typically sells in the $30-50 range.
It’s easy to find critics of gins like this who dismiss them as pure novelty. But one thing I’ve realized throughout my years of research into people’s taste in gin is that the underlying palate of Sharish Blue Magic Gin appeals to a large number of gin drinkers.
