Distilled by an undisclosed Kentucky producer, this 15 year old, barrel proof, release comes to us from a Jacksonville, FL bottler under the Seelbach's Private Reserve label. It's pretty hard to come across 15 year old Kentucky Bourbon at this point, and a release in smaller formats always turns heads. Let's see how it is!

  • Many will label this "just Barton" and those folks would be wrong. This release is stunning, packed with character and bold, brutalist flavor that doesn't back down and remains intensely drinkable.

  • Nose:

Bold, boozy and rich on the nose. Rich and packed with cherry cordials, dark chocolate, nougat, creme brulee and a fat stack of pancake and waffle batter.

  • Taste:

Rich on the palate, deceptively easy to drink for the proof, this cherry cola smack down is layered in with maple, barrel char, graham cracker, spicy pepper, a touch of cardamom and big black tea. Dry oak, tannic but not too much so. Oh it's good.

  • Finish:

Long finish. Char driven with cherries, cola, chocolate malt and a ripper of a candied ginger note that balances nicely with cream and sweet oak.

  • Overall:

Many will label this "just Barton" and those folks would be wrong. This release is stunning, packed with character and bold, brutalist flavor that doesn't back down and remains intensely drinkable.
