It's delicious, aromatic and sweet in addition to a very nice balance. It goes well with a nice prime rib sandwich or a house cheeseburger and fried egg.
Sweet and salty in one glass? You bet. It’s a lively expression… but one which might drive whisky traditionalists into fits. Definitely one to try at least once. You’ll either run away immediately or be back for more in minutes.
I’d be more than willing to sacrifice some drinkability for greater intensity and more subtle nuances. Still, it is an enjoyable whisky, and enthusiasts of its predecessor -- Scapa 14 -- should also like it, albeit at a higher retail price.

House Review
Nose:
Vanilla and almonds, there's some hay and a doughy sweetness also. It's nutty and sweet with some light icing notes, the tiniest lemon zest and more nutty fragrance.
Taste:
The mouth feel is a tiny bit thin but it's sweet and inviting. Some hay and grain notes flourish with vanilla and some bakers icing carrying on in the back. Overall it isn't heavy or thick but light and oddly refreshing.
Finish:
Medium and sort of flat. Its nutty and sweet and wisps away. There isn't too too much going on here but I enjoy it.
Overall:
Scapa holds an odd place in my heart. It's delicious, aromatic and sweet in addition to a very nice balance. It goes well with a nice prime rib sandwich or a house cheeseburger and fried egg. If only their age stated stuff wasn't so hard to find these days.
