Savage & Cooke Lip Service Rye Whiskey is a 3-year-old straight rye finished in grenache barrels from Dave Phinney’s Department 66 vineyard in Maury, France. It has a mashbill of 51% rye, 45% corn and 4% malted barley and is bottled at 90 proof. It hosts a suggested retail price of $55 for a 750ml bottle.

Light and floral once more. Apples, pears, rye spice, toffee and a touch of pepper. It’s definitely rye, though.
Moderate mouthfeel, full of honey, apples, pears and toffee. Pleasant oakiness here, there’s some structure, some maple, some honey. Nice!
Moderate finish, there’s oak, honey, toffee, rye spice and pleasant body to the finish.
Lip Service from Savage and Cooke may come in bizarre packaging, but the rye inside is pleasant, and that’s what matters.
