Howling Mob Bourbon Whiskey is a 100-proof, four-year-old grain-to-glass bourbon produced using a mashbill of 86% Howling Mob heirloom corn and 14% malted barley. The corn, known for its low yield and weather sensitivity, was grown on a single plot of land in Winters, California, chosen for its nutrient-rich soil, sunlight and water access. Distilled and aged on-site, the whiskey matured in Seguin Moreau char #3 barrels. Only 31 barrels were produced.

  • As an investigation into the power of Howling Mob corn, the whiskey is an instructive experience — but things here feel more intellectual and academic than exuberantly enjoyable. 100 proof.

  • This is a bourbon to approach with careful thought and consideration, and for a four-year craft bourbon, it is one of the best at this age I’ve ever had. Well done.

  • I went back and forth on whether this is a “Top Shelf” bourbon, and I eventually landed on yes. It took a few sips, but it over the top. I just really dig it and highly recommend it. There definitely are moments where I wish that it brought more to my senses, but overall it’s great.
