Säntis Malt Dreifaltigkeit is a Swiss single malt whisky produced by Appenzeller Brewery. The malt is kilned over high moor peat mixed with apple, beech and oak wood shavings, then matured in former beer barrels. It is bottled at 52% ABV in 0.5L format and priced at about $60.
Though rich in color, the barrel ageing provides more char and mellowing sweetness than any over the top vanilla notes. It's a unique dram, and one that Smokeheads will take great pleasure in sipping by the fire.
