Saint James Extra Old Rhum Vieux Agricole is a blend of agricole rhums aged 6 to 10 years in small oak casks. Bottled at 42-43% ABV, it is produced in Martinique under AOC regulations and comes in a 700ml format.
Really good stuff. This is a producer I am increasingly becoming interested in. Aside from my immature (palate wise) comments regarding the Royal Ambre Rhum – a review which I urgently need to re-visit. As soon as I can get another bottle.
This is interesting, most aged agricole rhums are quite fruity, but this one has more of a fragrant profile full of spice and perfumy notes. It’s different enough to make it quite enjoyable, I like this. A fine sipper and a great example of complex aged agricole rhums.
