  • Nose:

Really beautiful nose. Soft, sweet butterscotch meets clove, potpourri, allspice, candied orange.

  • Taste:

Moderate mouthfeel. A lovely blend of spice — clove, allspice, anise and nutmeg — leads, followed by tiramisu, cherry and gingerbread.

  • Finish:

Big time clove, nutmeg and cinnamon sugar open the finish, followed by marshmallow fluff and blackberry.

  • Overall:

This is a gorgeous, nuanced rye that does a superb job of balancing spice, sweetness and oak. At $80, this is a steal.

  • Score:

    94
