Ron Zacapa is a Guatemalan rum made from a blend of rums aged between 10 and 25 years in the “Sistema Solera.” Older and younger rums are then blended as they age in a sequence of barrels that previously held American whiskeys, Sherries, Pedro Ximénez wines. The rum is finished in French oak cognac casks.
All told, it’s only a bit more impressive than the standard Zacapa 23, but that’s still saying something. A great special occasion sipping rum. If you can spare the shelf space.
