  • Remus Repeal Reserve Series IX delivers a classic bourbon experience that balances value and quality, making it a standout in its price range. Its inviting nose of cherry, seasoned oak, leather, fudge, and baking spices leads to a palate that’s spicy yet approachable, with cherry, cinnamon, dark chocolate, almonds, and black tea coating the tongue.

  • Nose:

Big chopped peanuts note on the nose, plus buttered popcorn, cinnamon, pepper and leather

  • Taste:

Very nice viscosity. Buttered popcorn note continues, joined by tea, tobacco, leather, cinnamon, brown sugar and lemon peel.

  • Finish:

Cracked pepper and cinnamon lead the finish, joined by, once again, a big buttery note, as well as a big peanut oil note and vanilla bean, plus tobacco.

  • Overall:

A very distinctive bourbon that leans dry and spicy, striking some unusual notes while being delicious, well balanced and presenting a lush mouthfeel. A really nice expression.

  • Score:

    92
