  • I found this bourbon to be extraordinarily confident and balanced, evoking things that are classy and subtly luxe. It is ornate without crossing the line to ostentatiousness.

  • The finish has peppery oak, chocolate-covered coffee bean, and nuts, with quickly fading dark fruit.

  • It's a bright whiskey with notes of vanilla, cinnamon, and maple, and a refreshing finish with hints of orange peel. Sip it neat, or perhaps try it in a Manhattan.

  • This is not a disappointment. You will enjoy it. I did. I won’t bring it out for just anyone. At $85 a bottle, this is not a terrible deal at all. If there’s a Kelley Blue Book for bourbon, this would hold its value.

  • The finish is generous, perhaps longer than I’ve experienced on a Repeal Reserve to date, with a nice harmony of fruit marmalade, toasted oak, and crème caramel. Clearly getting better every year.

  • Still very well blended, but this expression will hit home for those that like oakier bourbons.

  • Nose:

Buttery and spice on the nose. Creamy honey, light peanut character, some tobacco and vanilla bean.

  • Taste:

Medium palate. A bit dry and oak forward, lots of pepper and spice. Clove, spicy rye notes, some honey.

  • Finish:

Long finish, though it's less dessert forward than previous iterations, focusing more on dry oak, spicy clove and pepper.

  • Overall:

Still very well blended, but this expression will hit home for those that like oakier bourbons.
