Distilled for Redbreast and finished in American Oak barrels from the Taylor Family Elk Cave Farm in Kentucky, this is Redbreast's Kentucky Oak Edition.
It's not as complex as I'd hope out of a higher price point limited release such as this, but I'd certainly like to enjoy another glass of it at the end of the day.
This is a gateway whiskey for those looking to either get into bourbon or for those looking to take a baby step outside of bourbon and want a complex Irish whiskey.

House Review
Nose:
Buttered biscuits and honey on the nose, peaches and cream, some lightly sour milk funk and cocoa, touch of coconut shavings. Sweet, buttery, lightly oaky.
Taste:
Medium mouthfeel, bold spice kicks off the palate along with rich nougat, sweet cream, touch of honey, caramel, coconut and wood shavings.
Finish:
Long finish, lightly bitter, full of creamy nougat, light fruits like plum and peach, and some tannic dryness.
Overall:
Overall, this is an interesting release, though perhaps a touch disjointed to really shine like past editions have. At $100, it's really up to the drinker to decide if completing the series on their shelf is worth owning one of the weaker, recent, Redbreast releases.
